I added six photographs from Hong Kong to the shop as 1/1 editions. What follows is a short story of each set of images.

Blue Porsche & Tarp I (2019)
One Winter night in Wan Chai, I photographed an old Porsche down a lane of tiny auto shops stacked behind Blue House. I was guided to these back alleys by Shirley Surya, Curator of Design and Architecture at M+. Since then I’ve chased this motif: begrimed and run-down luxury cars hailing from the 80s and 90s – the wrecks of an Asian Tiger economic boom.
The following day, I happened upon water barricades crowded together in West Kowloon, where new museums, parks, and promenades have sprung up. The police barriers were stowed rather than deployed (they were weathered and empty, and guarded nothing) – dormant but vigilant against any and all protests.

Water Barricade, Empty (2019)
I took the final two photographs on a Spring day in Central, during my first visit to Hong Kong after the pandemic. The Buddhist goddess of compassion and Chinese deities of fortune and prosperity were sequestered in an alley niche, while not far away a storied name in fashion peeked out over a former prison.
